Obstruction Lights for Bridges
Xenon and Neon obstruction lights are specially designed for use as an aircraft warning light fo r High rise Bridges. These lights, having no filament is immune to high vibration shock-proof environment and therefore ideally suited for use on Bridge structures.
The bridge’s construction should be illuminated through Obstruction lights in accordance with the following specifications (ICAO Standards).
- If the bridge is not more than 45 meters in over-all height : Two simultaneously burning obstruction lights should be illuminated at the center of the highest point of a Bridge. They should be located so as to insure unhindered visibility of at least one of the lights from airplane at any normal angle of approach.
- If the bridge is more than 45 meters in over-all height : Two simultaneously burning obstruction lights should be illuminated at the center of the highest point of a Bridge. Lights should be installed at equal intervals not exceeding 45 meters. They should be located so as to insure unhindered visibility of at least one of the lights from airplane at any normal angle of approach.
