Obstruction Lights for Cranes

When cranes are erected for any building or any other structure,permission should be obtained from the commissioner of the area.  Crene’s height, dimension of jib, coordinates, erecting date and duration of the project must be informed to the commissioner for evaluation.

The crane should be marked with color which is contrast to the background of the surroundings. Illumination should clearly indicate the extremities of the crane and it should be illuminated by Medium intensity Type B flashing red Obstruction light (20 – 60 fpm), intensity : 2000 candelas which is in accordance with ICAO Annexure 14.
